But to mean it when I say that I want my life to count for His glory is to drive a stake through the heart of self - a painful and determined dying to me that must be a part of every day I live.

Just a thought:

itsjaaanel:

If Jesus Christ appeared on your doorstep and personally delivered your future spouse to you, would you run into His arms first, now that you’ve finally seen Him? Or would you be more excited to meet your future husband/wife as if it’s the only moment you’ve been waiting for?

Choices will continually be necessary and — let us not forget — possible. Obedience to God is always possible. It is a deadly error to fall into the notion that when feelings are extremely strong we can do nothing but act on them.

I hear too many females say, “I just want a guy that will love me for me and love me forever.” I got a great guy for you, his name is Jesus Christ. He’s the king of romance. The definition of love. The perfect husband.

Then I saw Him there, hanging on a tree, looking at me. I saw Him there, hanging on a tree, looking at me. He was looking at me, looking at Him, starting through me. I could not escape those beautiful eyes. And I began to weep. He hard arms wide open, a heart exposed. Arms wide open, He was bleeding, bleeding. Love’s definition. Love’s definition was looking at me looking at Him, hanging on a tree. This is how I know what Love is.

Lust lust.

shamedoesnthavetowin:

Lust lust.

Lust lust.
She hates thee
You make loving into longing
And meaning into melting
And self-respect into a moment of pleasure
She hates thee

Lust lust.
You charmingly hand her a robe of shame
To hide her scarlet letter—
In fear of that crimson A
She feels a moment’s relief

Lust Lust.
Oh! How she desires to tear away the robe and hold the A high up in the air
And then trample it underneath her feet
But shame overpowers
And the A
The letter
Remains hidden, deep
Where no one can remove its seams from her flesh

Lust lust.
She despises thee
And yet, she sews another A under her robe and ties the belt tighter

My prayer is that one day, women will feel free to talk about this. Ladies: You do not need to feel alone or live in shame of this. Psalm 34:5 says that,  “Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.” May we boldly live in this freedom! Because we have our Lord, our Christ — who was born today (rejoice!!) — we are free of our insecurities, our fears, and our curiosities that have caused us to live in sexual sin and then hide, out of shame. This Christmas, let’s accept the gift that God has given us in His Son: the freedom to accept our purity in Him. If anything, see that you are not alone and that women everywhere struggle with pornography, lust, and desire the freedom to talk about it. Our beautiful Savior is this freedom!
